WHO WE ARE

GT Automotive began in November of 1980. We started in a little 2 bay shop that was located on a used car lot on 5300 South and State Street. In 2005 we built our current facility in South Jordan and have really enjoyed the building and the location. We have an excellent staff up front as well as very competent technicians in the shop. Our Express Lube is also unique in that we have very little turnover compared to most facilities. Our lube technicians also have an advantage in being able to ask for help from any of our ASE Certified technicians over in the shop if they ever run into a problem that they are not able to solve on their own.

Now here's a chance to meet our crew and learn a little more about them.

	Kyle Vocana: Service Advisor. May 2003 – present. Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Utah State University; Master’s Degree in Business Administration, University of Phoenix. Married, father of three girls. Enjoys camping, backpacking, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his wife and kids. Loves traveling and wishes he could do more.		Shaun Squires: Service Advisor. May 2009 – present. Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, University of Utah. Two years of experience with advising service. Married, father of one. Enjoys spending time with his wife and child, traveling abroad, attending plays, musicals, and symphonies, mountain biking, snowboarding, camping, cars, boating, and soccer.
Dave Nuttall: Technician. December 2004 – present. Twenty-seven years of experience. ASE Certified Master Technician. Enjoys camping and 4-wheeling. Grandfather of three. Likes to fix cars during the day and play on computers at night		Orson Birth: Technician. January 2008 – present. Fourteen years of experience. ASE Certified technician in engine repair, brakes, steering and suspension, and electrical. Enjoys golfing, riding horses, and boating at Bear Lake and Lake Powell.
	Roger Cook: Technician. October 1993 – present. Thirty-five years of experience. Certified Subaru Technician. Member of the Murray Symphony and West Jordan City Band. Has been asked to play for various community musical events. Enjoys boating, especially at Lake Powell. Proud grandfather of three.		Nick Nuttall: Express Lube Manager. April 2009 - present. Enjoys hunting, camping, fishing, and farming. Married, father of three. Also enjoys watching football, especially the Oakland Raiders and Utah Utes. He is also a big fan of demolition derbies.
David Derricott: Lube & Safety & Emissions Technician September 2008 – present. Avid student of history, philosophy, geology, physics, and classical literature. Enjoys sailing and mountain climbing.		Jonathan Hansen: Lube & Safety & Emissions Technician. April 2009 – present. Enjoys being a musician, camping, art, foreign languages, travel, and classic Volkswagens. Always interested in learning new things about everything in life.

Sam Papenfuss: Lube Technician. July 2007 – present.

Enjoys all sports, both watching and participating. Has a huge interest in Ford Mustangs and Mountain Dew.

Mike Kraeling: Lube & Safety & Emissions Technician. April 2009 – present.

Aspiring professional musician, currently in a band; enjoys playing guitar and drums. Enjoys the outdoors; hiking, camping and exploring new places. Loves to grill, especially in the great outdoors. Currently learning about computer programming.

Boun Laaw: Lube & Safety & Emissions Technician. Tech-in-training. February 2007 – present.

Enjoys fishing, skate-boarding, and bowling. Loves eating Vietnamese pho noodles.

Tim Stapleton: Owner

Tim began the business in 1980. He is an ASE Master Technician and has served on the SLCC Automotive PAC committee, as well as the South Jordan Chamber of Commerce.

He enjoys backpacking, boating and water skiing. He plays the guitar for relaxation and has been known to arm wrestle once in a while. Other hobbies include taking care of the salt water aquarium in the waiting room.

Tim is married to Janice Stapleton and has 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
